Cassina Chairs Robie 1

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie 1 chair for the Cassina line is well-known for its sophisticated yet practical design.

The chair’s frame is made from solid wood strips that have been polished with the meticulous attention to detail that is signature to all Cassina furniture. The backrest is constructed from solid wood pieces connected together in a vertical progression marked by a series of motifs evocative of the architectural discipline aspired to by Wright.

The panel upon which the seat rests is made of birch plywood and is both padded and removable.Despite the production and technological intricacy, the chair is connoted, with its ageless style, as a symbolic object of everyday life that merges perfectly within the environment where it is placed.
